    EXPERIENCE:

    Since July 2001. I am working with Sui Southern Gas Company at Karachi Terminal as an  Engineer (Health Safety & Environment)at Karachi Terminal.Sui Southern Gas Company is Natural Gas Transmission Company. It is the biggest pipeline in Pakistan on 12”, 16”, 18”, 20” & 24” Dia pipeline from Sui to the city of Karachi (Karachi Terminal).Responsible to ensure the Implementation and continues development of the company Health, Safety & Environment Policy. Plan and prepared the safety objective / Target / measures for safety.  Incident reporting, Gas measurement, Monitoring of PPE and audit for monthly basis. Plan and conduct safety talk, Fire Fighting & Emergency drill training for employees and Contractor. Safety instruction during Project / Construction job. Monitor personnel, Health and risk management in the area of design, Operation and maintenance of the facility.Performed Project Management Safety and Executed four projects. 95 Km Line pipe Ziarat Project, 25 Km 18” Dia Inter link Project , 1.5 Km Baran Nadi crossing project on 16”Dia pipeline and LPG-AIR Mix Plant. Which include Inspection of Sand blasting, Painting,Coating (Tape coating, Coal tar Coating and 3LPE Coating) and Joint Sleeving , Lowering, Hydro testing and Cathodic Protection during construction / Operation of high Pressure pipeline. New assignments Certification of OSHA/Env (18001 & 14001) standard Implementation at SSGC.  Installation and commissioning of fire fighting system LPG –AIR MIX Plant at GWADAR.

    Since July 1997 to June 2001. I worked with Engro Vopak Terminal (EVTL) Port Qasim as a Safety officer during construction phase. / OSS.

    Engro Vopak Terminal is a join venture of Engro Chemical Pakistan Ltd & Vopak International a subsidiary of Royal Pak hood of Netherland. EVTL is the state of the art Terminal and Jetty Operation to Handle, Store and Dispatch of bulk liquid Mineral, Chemical & Petro chemical products. Handling of Acetic acid, Phosphoric acid, Paraxylene, Venyl Chloride Monomer, Acrilo nitrile and Liquefied Petroleum Gas. Their up coming projects are MEG and Spot tank of monomers.The Terminal on a 100 acre area in Port Qasim its 1st Phase consist of 41000cbm of storage for PX and AA also constructed a Jetty at deep water channel a capacity for ships Up to 75000 DWT. The 2nd Phase completed and comprised:   A pipeline connection to FJFC for handling of Phosphoric acid.  Two Sphere with a combined capacity of 7500cbm for handling, Storage  and pipeline transfer of Venvl Chloride Monomer (VCM) .   Two Tanks 6400cbm for handling and storage of Acrilo nitrile (AN).  Nine mounded Bullets 10000cbm for handling and storage of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) on an open access basis.

Responsibilities Include:

Worked as Safety officer on above project during construction / Installation / commissioning of  pipeline, jetty equipment and Storage tanks. Jetty operation for safe handling of sea going vessel or Chemical Tanker. Make arrangement for safe Berthing, Manipulation, Unloading, Pigging & UN mooring of the ships. Communication with Master and signing of documents as per C/P agreement for unloading of cargo. Execution of ship UN Loading, Bowser loading and Pipeline transfer are carried out according to rule and regulation of Industrial Estate Authority of Port Qasim (IEAPQ) in a safe and pollution free environment.Stock control of the Tank farm and Product Movement. Taking joint dip statements along with surveyor and the shipping agent. To execute the terminal paper flow system and record keeping. Issuance's of work permit (Cold, Hot, Electrical, Radiography, Civil and excavation, Vehicle and Vessel or Confined space entry) and complying safety measure.Participate pre and post HAZOP study and co-ordinate the commissioning team for audit of equipment as per HAZOP study. (AA, PX, LPG & VCM) Supervision pre & post commissioning of tank installation (Px, AA & ACN) dedicated pipeline, Bullets for LPG and Sphere for VCM.

    Worked on LPG project as a co-coordinator reported to Project manager. Training arranged for new operational staff, Commissioning of entire facility & successfully handle of ship unloading and LPG Bowser loading.

    Schedule maintained safety equipment and fire fighting equipment testing such as fire pump (two are 750 m3/ hr & one is 100 m3/ hr Hydrant, Fire Monitor, Foam Truck (AFFF), Fire truck, Portable gas detector, SCBA and Fire Monitoring System. Organized a surprise practical Fire Fighting exercise & using of fire equipments.

    Supervision of Terminal Operation likes as Ship handling, Bowser loading, Transfer of product via pipeline. Hoses or MLA (Marine Loading Arm) Operation and arrange on job training to operation staff.

 Since September 1989 to September 1993 worked as Utility Operator in Lever Brother Pakistan Ltd. Since January 1994 to     July 1997 worked as process cum utility Supervisor.

     Responsibilities are given below:

    PROCESS: Operation of Natural Gas Cracking Plant (H2) for hydrogenation. Start up and shut down both (& emergency) of Gas Cracking Plant including handling of troubleshooting. Hydrogen plant producing 200m3/Hr of hydrogen gas.

    The Gas Plant consists following steps of operation:  Two stages natural gas compressor operating 275 PSI with inters stage  cooler andPressure controller. A complete compressor station is installed. De Sulphurisation of the feed in order to protect the reforming catalyst. Steam reforming of the hydrogenation feed to produce a mixture of H2, CO andUN converted methane (CH4).High temperature shift converter to reduce the carbon monoxide by converting it to Carbon di oxide and hydrogen. PSA (Pressure Swing Absorber) Purification of raw hydrogen by adsorption of Impurities on molecular sieves. PSA   is operated on PLC.

    UTILITIES: At Karachi factory there are three boilers. Two are of Lancashire and one is package boiler. We are supplying boiler feed water capacity is 240 Ton/day. Operation of water treatment plants such as De mineralised, Mix bed and Ionisation plant including pump, Motors of utility system. Coupon install on boiler feed water and cooling water pipe line for corrosion monitoring.

    Since August 1988 to September 1989 I worked as a Trainee Plant Operator in Gatron Industries Limited Unit Ploy Condensation Plant.

    Responsibility Production Operation of polyester Chips including Quality Control

    & Field Operation of Pumps, motors of Boiler feed water, Cooling water, Water

    treatment plants such as Demineralised Reverse osmosis & Mix bed.
